Boarding at Rancho del Cominezo
Quarantine/Herd Integration
$450, first 30 days
All new horses coming to Rancho del Comienzo, with the exception of Stall Boarders, will be required to spend time in an individual pen so that we can monitor health, transition to new feed as necessary, and integrate the horse into a herd if he will be moving to Group Pasture Board. This helps ensure the best health and well-being for all of the horses at RdC.
Group Pasture Board
$350/month
Horses live in herds of 3-8, outside 24/7, with plenty of shelter and space. We group horses based on nutritional needs and temperaments. Horses will be out on fresh pasture grass as much as possible, and will spend time in large drylots as needed, with free-choice forage. Pastures are rotated regularly for the health of the horses and the pastures. Grain is fed up to 2 times per day in nose bags, which allows for individualized diets without fighting. We blanket as needed.
Individual Pen Board
$450/month
Your horse will have his own large pen, either with attached grass turnout or will be turned out daily in a larger pasture.
Pregnant Mare Board
$550/month
Pregnant Mare Board includes daily health checks, udder checks, and milk pH testing once milk is being produced. Mare will be turned out daily, and the pen/stall will be cleaned daily.
Mare and Foal Group Pasture Board
$450/month
Mare and foal will be slowly and methodically integrated into a herd with experienced mares and/or other mares and foals.
Stall Board
$550/month
RdC has very limited stalls available. Stalls are 12x12 or 20x24, depending on availability. Horses living in stalls will be turned out daily, and stalls are cleaned daily.
